"It's a happy place," says volunteer Zoe
“It’s a happy place and doesn’t feel like a place of mourning,” says Zoe who gives her marketing skills and experience to Trinity two days a week as a volunteer.
“There’s a great warmth to the organisation and I’ve met fascinating people from all walks of life – people come in to do all kinds of volunteer jobs from changing the flowers and gardening to helping out at mealtimes,” she adds.
“Being a Mum is a completely life-changing experience,” says Zoe who has a three-year old daughter. “It changed me and my priorities. I wasn’t ready to go back to full-time work, even though I was offered my old job back, but I did want to do something for the community and keep my skills alive.”
Zoe sought out Trinity because of its good local profile. “It’s a way for me to help the hospice and it helps me too,” she adds.
Splitting her time between our retail shops and volunteering teams, Zoe puts together marketing messages and produces all kinds of communications materials such as press releases, posters and website content.
Zoe helped to promote our new furniture and interiors shop in Putney. “It was a great feeling when the shop took £6,000 on its first day,” she says.
