Your role as a shop volunteer
Without volunteers we couldn’t keep our shops open and we wouldn’t make nearly as much money to give to Trinity. Running a successful shop requires a team effort and involves everyone making the shop look great and providing excellent customer service in a happy, relaxed and safe environment.
What we ask you to do
- unpack, sort, clean, hang and ticket donated goods
- be on the shop floor assisting customers and keeping stock neat and tidy
- serve customers on the till
- clean the shop, sorting area, office and communal areas
- be aware of health and safety issues
- register Gift Aid donors
You need to
- be good with people, happy, motivated and enthusiastic
- have good communication skills
- be physically fit
- be reliable, honest and numerate
- be willing to perform the tasks listed above and work as part of a team
It is regular and reliable volunteering that is important to our shop managers so that they know who will there to help each day. While we ask volunteers to give us at least half a day a week on a regular basis, we are aware that people are often busy so we don’t expect anyone to do more than two days a week in total.
