Trinity Hospice is your local charity – we care for over 2,000 terminally ill people and their families each year, free of charge for however long it is needed. Our catchment area is central, south and southwest London covering over 750,000 people. 10,000 of whom are diagnosed with a terminal illness each year. Our aim is to enable them to make the decisions that are right for them and to support them in achieving the best possible quality of life, whether this is at home (with our community nurses) or in the hospice. Everyone is treated with the greatest respect and dignity. They receive the treatment and support they require for however long it is needed, absolutely free of charge.

As well as caring for terminally ill adults of any age, Trinity also has a team of dedicated and professional social workers and bereavement counsellors who help to look after children who have or are experiencing loss.

Support Trinity at Christmas

Why not use your carol concert or Christmas play to show your support for Light Up a Life – our annual fundraising campaign with a 40ft Christmas tree covered with lights dedicated to some-one special who has died.

We have A5 Light up a Life ‘book covers’ in which a carol service sheet or programme can be inserted.

LUAL

You could turn any Christmas event into an opportunity to help raise funds for Trinity by placing Trinity Hospice collection boxes at the entrance and exits of your hall

Our work with local schools

It’s our aim to promote social awareness and fundraising in schools by encouraging pupils to take part in fun activities while helping them to understand who they are raising money for and why.

Bereavement support for all

Trinity’s team work with many young families and local schools in order to help children cope with the new and frightening experience of bereavement. These children need the attention and support of a sensitive, caring adult. At times this may need to be someone other than a parent.

Support for teachers and pupils

Our trained counsellors are happy to visit local nurseries and schools and can provide the following services:

 broken heart

• Assemblies for children about coping with loss

• Talks or workshops for small groups of children

• Training sessions for teachers on how to help bereaved children.

• Telephone advice for teachers on how to help bereaved children

If you are a teacher and would like your school to get involved in fundraising for Trinity, please get in touch.

If you are a parent with children at a local school and would like to get involved, we would love to hear from you too.

We can also provide your school with sponsorship forms, fundraising packs, balloons, stickers, customised posters, collecting buckets and plenty of ideas, advice and encouragement. Please call Laura Starkie on 020 7787 1018 or email lstarkie@trinityhospice.org.uk

Please consider helping us. It costs us £8 million each year to run with only 36% funding from the NHS we have to raise £5 million each years ourselves. In these difficult times we rely heavily on the generosity and support of our community.

Thank you for your support.
