“I know that my time will have had a positive influence on someone’s care” says volunteer Simon

BA pilot Simon comes in about once a week to help Trinity sell donated items through its eBay shop.

The money raised helps to fund more specialist end of life care.

As a pilot, I have a fair bit of spare time and I wanted to spend it usefully and give something back to the community. Trinity is close to where I live and a well respected organisation with a lot of history.

One of the things I most enjoy about volunteering at Trinity, apart from playing my part in raising money, is working in a fun office environment with the same people each week and a bit of normality. This is obviously completely different from my day job!

I read in the newspapers that many charities eat up money in administrative costs, I certainly don’t get this impression with Trinity. From the very top, there seems to be a focus on using the money effectively. Fundraising is taken seriously and there are many innovative ways Trinity goes about raising money.

Trinity is a very cheerful and relaxed place to work and at the end of each day, I know that my time will have had a positive influence on someone’s care.
