Mulberry Place
Mulberry Place in Clapham provides a range of flexible, day services in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Our aim is to improve wellbeing by building the confidence of patients, families and carers and helping them to find ways to cope with what may be an uncertain and challenging future. As well as providing an easy way to access our services, the relaxed and sociable atmosphere of Mulberry Place enables people to share experiences and support each other.
Staffed by doctors, nurses, therapists, social workers, welfare advisor, pharmacist, counsellors and volunteers, our services include:
Information and support
Advice, counselling and emotional support for individual patients, family members, friends and carers. This may relate directly to the illness or to difficulties that arise from the illness, such as social problems, practical concerns, financial worries or bereavement.
Therapies and rehabilitation
These services help people to maintain their independence and mobility as well as their sense of wellbeing so that they can stay in control and make their own choices for as long as possible. They include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, complementary therapies, relaxation and exercise.
Our activity programme includes creative art and art therapy both as enjoyable activities and as a means of self-expression.
And hairdressing and manicures help people to feel refreshed, and more like themselves again.
Specialist medical and nursing support
The members of our highly skilled multi-professional team are available to help patients with their individual medical and nursing needs and to provide treatments in a comfortable and friendly environment, without the need for admission as an inpatient.
Mulberry Cafe
At the heart of all this activity is the Mulberry Cafe, a natural meeting place where patients, families, friends and carers are all welcome.
