“It’s a monumental task to raise all the money Trinity needs,” says John but he’s helping all he can

John’s wife Sally spent the last few days of her life at Trinity. He says he can hardly put into words how wonderful the care was. ”It was a pretty grim time for us but the care and support was simply brilliant.” Since then he and his son have received ongoing help from Trinity which he says has made all the difference to their lives.

“When I first went to the support groups for partners of those who had died I expected to be the youngest by a long way. It was quite a surprise to see how many young people there were. I associated hospices with the elderly, I hadn't appreciated how many people of all ages need somewhere like Trinity.”

John says before Sally died he hadn’t stopped to think how all of us may need Trinity at some time: “When I needed help most it was there for me and my family.”

Despite not running for 28 years, John who is an auctioneer, signed up to run the London Marathon, raising a staggering £18,000. “It’s a monumental task to raise all the money Trinity actually needs. I know not everyone can run a marathon, I won’t again,” he laughs, “but I will continue fundraising to help Trinity, and urge everyone to do what they can.”

John’s fundraising helps Trinity provide all those essential services that helped him and his family at their time of need. Please offer your help to Trinity in any way you can.
