Dine at Mine ~ Fundraising Ideas

Once you’ve decided on the food and the guests, then it’s time to think about some easy fundraising ideas.

We’ve put together practical templates for you to download including invitations and place cards with a prize draw form – all with information about how Trinity makes a real difference to the quality of life of people in our care.

You and your guests can donate quickly and safely online via paypal by clicking on the link. Be sure to enter your Dine at Mine host’s name.

Fundraising ideas:

Ask your friends to donate what they think the meal would have cost them in a restaurant.

Ask for a fixed donation – this could be anything from £25 to £250, or a donation of their choice. Some may give £20 and others may give £200 or £2,000.

Hold a small auction – have you got a nice bottle of wine you can spare or could you get corporate event tickets through work?

Run a silent auction, raffle or prize draw with a few special items you are willing to part with or that friends or local organisations might donate.

Don’t forget to ask your guests to join the Dine at Mine network and host their own event to keep the fundraising momentum going!

Remember to take some photos on the night and email them to Trinity for our Dine at Mine Gallery to encourage even more people to host their own event.

Remember that every gift helps, no matter how big or how small. It costs nearly £8 million each year to provide the free services that Trinity offers to the community, so any amount of money raised can make a big difference. Make it easy for your guests to donate:

Online

If your Dine at Mine event is a celebration (perhaps a birthday or anniversary), you may want to create your own fundraising page at www.justgiving.com. It is easy to do and will enable your guests to donate online before, after or even during your event. You can then watch your total go up as you dinner goes down!

Completing a Gift Aid form increases the value of gifts by 28p for every £1 donated. So please ask your guests to fill in the gift aid form envelopes in your pack.

If they are giving online through Justgiving.com - it’s easy to tick the Gift Aid declaration box.

Post

You can also collect cash or cheques (made payable to Trinity Hospice) on the night. Please post cheques to Trinity Hospice, 30 Clapham Common North Side, London, SW4 ORN.

Thank Yous

Sending a thank you letter or email after the event – with a photo or two – is a nice way to tell everyone how much you’ve raised together. You could use the opportunity show them this website in case they would like to run their own Dine at Mine event in future!

If you have any questions or if you would like to discuss your ideas, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
