Trinity Shops: donate items

Do you need to spring clean your wardrobe? Are you updating your home? Do you need to make more space? Do you have one too many dresses or coats? Please consider Trinity – our shops will be grateful for all the things you no longer want to keep.

It's very likely we have a shop near you. Look up shop locations.

Gift Aid the items you donate - the difference adds up!

Gift Aid now adds 25% to the value of the goods you donate to Trinity.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid enables Trinity Hospice to reclaim tax that you’ve paid, as a UK Income or Capital Gains Tax payer, on items you donate to our shops.

This means that when we sell an item you donated for £30, HM Revenue & Customs will add a further 25%. That adds up to an extra £7.50, at no extra cost to you, to help Trinity provide specialist end of life care at the hospice and in people’s own homes.

What do I have to do?

Simply tell us you are a UK taxpayer by completing a quick and easy registration form. You can do this when you bring goods in to any of our shops or download the form from this website (see below). You can drop the completed form into any one of our shops or return it by post.

We will send you your personal Gift Aid donor card with your customer number shortly after you register. Whenever you donate goods in future – we’ll swipe your card so that we can keep track of the sold value of the goods you donate. You will be able to use your card at any of our shops.

What happens when my goods are sold?

Once your items have been sold we will write to you to let you know how much money you’ve helped us raise. With your permission, we will then treat the money raised as a donation and reclaim the tax from HM Customs & Revenue. You won’t have to do a thing.
