Star Art Auction Evening
Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008Rebecca Loos joined some of the City of London’s finance elite during a month of turmoil on the markets to raise an extraordinary £25,000 for Trinity Hospice.
Hosted by St. Helen’s Capital, who are based off Bishopsgate and supported by Command Technology Group CEO, Jennifer Allsop, Trinity Trustee, Susan Dark and sponsors Sterling Greenaway and Lovely Bubbly this unique networking evening culminated in an exceptional auction of Star Art.
Among the treasures on offer at the auction was a signed portrait of Kevin Spacey, signed Soundwave art by George Michael and Coldplay, and a special piece of art flown in from Philadelphia especially for the evening donated by former Wimbledon Champion, Martina Navratalova.
By far the most popular lot on the night was the first of four specially commissioned portraits of Rebecca Loos along with the promise that she would customise it with a personal message for the winner. Bidding reached fever pitch when auctioneer Ruari McGirr, (who is also the CEO at St. Helen’s Capital) threw in a double date with Rebecca and St. Helen’s Director Barry Hocken’s daughter, at which point bidding all out to a fantastic £4,000.
The success of this evening would not have been possible without the hard work and commitment of St. Helen’s director Barry Hocken and his wife Carol, Command Technology CEO Jennifer Allsop and Trinity Trustee, Susan Dark.
Thanks also goes to Sterling Greenaway for printing the beautiful programmes and Lovely Bubbly for donating the ’lovely’ champagne as well as a fabulous surprise auction prize.
